A fire broke out in a room of the Khulna divisional office of the Anti-Corruption Commission. The furniture and files of six rooms on the third floor of the building were burnt. The incident took place around 7 pm on Thursday. Later, two units of the fire service brought the fire under control in a short time.
DAD Kamruzzaman of the ACC’s Khulna office said that most of the workers left the office at around 5 pm and left for home. Suddenly, on the third floor, the sound and smoke were reported to the fire service. They brought the fire under control within 45 minutes. He added that the fire was believed to have destroyed valuable files and furniture in the cupboard.

Fire service official Azizur Rahman said the fire was brought under control after a 45-minute attempt to break the door lock and window glass. All the papers in the six rooms on the third floor were burnt. The cause of the fire could not be immediately ascertained.
