3 villains arrested for murdering Sumon, who was kidnapped in Benapole gold scam

The District Detective Police (DB) has arrested 3 criminals involved in the murder of Omar Farooq alias Suman (26), who was abducted in connection with the gold scam in Benapole, Jessore.

On Thursday, November 16, at 9:30 pm, a raid was conducted under the leadership of SI Murad Hossain, a vigilant officer of DB in Shakhari Bazar area of Kotayali police station of Dhaka. Meanwhile, 3 people involved in the incident were able to be arrested along with the microbus used in the incident after seeing the CCTV footage.
Jessore District Detective Police said that preliminary investigation revealed that 25 times the gold smugglers lost an estimated 3 kg of gold, so Commissioner Kamal Gong, the owner of the gold smuggling ring, arrested the suspect and beat up the victim Suman. Failing to find any gold in their efforts, they killed him and dumped the body in a bush along the Jhenaidah-Magura highway in Ramnagar area under Magura Sadar police station.

The 3 arrested accused are-1. Dalim Kumar Das (33), Ping Sunil Chandra Das, Sang-Alikamura, Thana-Chandina, District-Comilla, 2. Anjan Niyogi (49), Ping-Thakurdas Niyogi, Sang-Rasulpur, Thana-Devidar, District-Comilla, 3. Riaz Hossain (38), Ping-Daulat Munsi, Sang-Banshbaria, Thana-Dashmina, District-Patuakhali.

It is to be noted that the incident of kidnapping and murder of Omar Farooq alias Suman from Benapole by Kamal Gong of the gold smuggling gang on November 11 caused a lot of sensation and DB entered the field.
