Police have recovered the body of a housewife named Sharifa Begum (28) from the river Teesta two days after she went missing in Lalmonirhat.

The body of the woman was found floating in the river on the east bank of Teesta railway bridge at Gokunda union of Sadar upazila on Thursday (June 2). The deceased was identified as Sharifa Begum, daughter of Srot Ali of Alutari village under Khuniagach union of Sadar upazila.

Gokunda Union Beat Policing Officer Sadar Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Mizanur Rahman told banglanews that Sharifa Begum got married to a neighboring youth.
