Sepal Bashar alias Gittu has been arrested in connection with the stabbing of photographer Krishna Sarkar in Savar municipal area. He was arrested on Monday (June 6) morning from his home in Naogaon village of Damudya police station in Shariatpur. Later in the afternoon he was brought to Savar Model Police Station.
Investigating officer of the case and Savar Model Police Sub-Inspector SM Shahriar said. Billal Hossain’s son Sepal Bashar alias Gittu is the second accused in the murder case of photographer Krishna Sarkar.
Gittu used to work in a furniture shop in Savar. After the incident, he fled from Savar and went into hiding in his village home. He was arrested on the basis of secret information. He will be sent to court on Tuesday for remand.
It may be mentioned that Krishna Sarkar died at the hospital on Wednesday (June 1) after being stabbed and seriously injured while protesting against drug use at Arapara Zamindarbari Pond in Savar Municipality area around 10:30 pm on Monday (May 30). Govinda Sarkar, brother of the deceased, filed a case against four persons including Mulhota Nayan at Savar Model Police Station.
