The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has solved the mystery and arrested the killers in the case of writing a note after the murder of a teacher named Golam Kibria Sohail (45) in Savar’s Bhatpara. Arrested are, Md. Emon Khan (23), Md. Sagar (22) and Md. Chadek Ghazi (22). Among them, Eman Khan is the main planner of the murder.

On Monday (August 21), RAB-4, 6 and 13 conducted a joint operation in Jessore, Jhenaidah and Rangpur areas and arrested them. At this time, 5 lakh 21 thousand 99 taka was recovered.

According to RAB, the deceased teacher Golam Kibria used to buy and sell land. Because of this, he always had a large sum of money with him. After the teacher is killed to extort money, the drama is staged by writing a gay note.

RAB Legal and Media Wing Director Commander Khandaker Al Moin said these things in a press conference organized at Karwan Bazar RAB Media Center on Tuesday (August 22) afternoon.

He said that the dead body of a former school teacher named Golam Kibria (43) was recovered from the room of his house in Bhatpara area of Ward No. 1 of Savar Municipality at around 3 o’clock on August 20 with his hands and feet tied and a towel wrapped around his neck.

At that time, a note was found next to the body saying ‘This person is homosexual, police brother, we have killed him, brother also does illegal work, we are soldiers of Islam’.

In this incident, the victim’s brother filed a murder case against unknown persons in Savar police station.

According to RAB, the deceased Golam Kibria is a resident of Bhatpara area of Ward No. 1 of Savar Municipality. He was a former teacher by profession. He taught students privately at his home for several years. Besides, he did the business of buying and selling land.

Last August 19 at around 10 o’clock his elder brother Md. Golam went to his room after dinner in Mustafa’s room and fell asleep. On the day of the incident on August 20, around 2 am, Kibria did not wake up and the people of her house called her. The people of the house did not get any response from inside the house and at one point they found the back door of his house open.

At that time, the people of the house went into the room and found the dead body of the dead teacher on the bed with his hands and feet tied and a towel wrapped around his neck. Also, the belongings of the deceased’s room were in disarray and the cupboards were open.

During the preliminary interrogation of the arrested, this RAB officer said that the killing was planned and led by Imon. Sagar is an autorickshaw driver. The deceased teacher met him 2 years ago due to occasional commuting in his rickshaw. Later 6 months ago Sagar introduced his friend Eamon to the teacher. Due to acquaintance, Eman and Sagar used to visit teacher Kibria’s house from time to time.

The RAB official also said that teacher Golam Kibria was in the business of buying and selling land and kept all the business money at home. This money came to their attention as Sagar and Eman visited the teacher’s house. Later they plan to kill the teacher and steal the money. Eamon told Chadek about his plan 7-8 days before the incident. As Chadek had debts in various places, he agreed to this plan.

According to the plan, on August 19, Emon and Chadek took a bus from Jirani Bazar to the bus stand area of Savar and called to meet the teacher. Teacher Kibria asks them to come home. At around 10:45 PM Emon and Chadek came to the teacher’s house.

At that time, as per the plan, Sagar took an autorickshaw and stayed around the teacher’s house. After a light breakfast at the teacher’s house, at one point of conversation, at around 11:30 p.m., the electricity suddenly went out, and the teacher, Golam Kibria, grabbed his throat and Emon grabbed his face.

Later, they strangled teacher Golam Kibria by tying his hands and feet with a lungi and wrapping a towel around his neck to ensure the death of Golam Kibria.

Commander Khandaker Al Moin said, Chadek wrote a note on a white paper with his own hand and placed it next to the dead body in order to divert the incident of murder. Emon took the key from under the bed of the deceased and opened the cupboard and took Tk 650,000 and 4 mobile phones. Later they left the scene in Sagar autorickshaw and moved to Savar bus stand area.

He said that he gave 50 thousand taka to Emon Sagar. The remaining 6 lakh taka was divided equally between Emon and Chadek. In the morning after the incident, Emon first hid in Gazipur, then Jessore’s Chougacha area, Sagar Rangpur’s Mithapukur, Chadek Jhenaidah at their relative’s house to avoid arrest. Later RAB raided and arrested them.
