Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Habibur Rahman said that several political parties have called a rally in Dhaka on October 28. Nothing shall be done which obstructs the movement of people in the event of a public meeting. So we have some judgment analysis before allowing the public meeting. DMP Commissioner spoke to reporters at his office on Wednesday. He said that the political parties have applied to hold the rally. However, the permission decision will be taken after observing the risk to public life and overall safety measures.
The OC-AC-DC of the concerned police station will check the facts and give a report, then it will be decided whether the assembly will be allowed or not.
On October 28, BNP has announced to hold a rally in Nayapaltan, Awami League in Gulistan and Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami at Shapla Chatwar in Motijheel. Like-minded parties of BNP and Awami League have also called for a rally in the capital on the same day.

We always prioritize public safety. The security of the people is intact, the force management system and the gathering of the people are also kept in mind by the police.
Regarding the police check post, the DMP Commissioner said that it is a normal operation of the police. Regular checkposts are conducted to ensure that no one can carry weapons, explosives, terrorist activities. In any gathering, measures are taken considering security threats.
Security plans are made by reviewing the potential threats. Possible security threats will be analyzed and measures will be taken in upcoming gatherings as well. Police will resist any kind of anarchy.
