The Department of Health has ordered the closure of all unregistered clinics and diagnostic centers in the country within the next 72 hours. Unregistered private hospitals, clinics and diagnostic centers in the country will have to close within the next 72 hours, the statement said. Institutions that have accepted the registration but have not renewed it will have to give a deadline for renewal of registration.
If the renewal is not received within the stipulated time, the activities of those organizations will have to be stopped.
The statement further said that strict action would be taken against those institutions and persons involved in the operation of private hospitals and clinics, including those with anesthesia and non-registered doctors to assist in the operation. Institutions that have applied for new registration must expedite the licensing process. These organizations will not be able to operate before obtaining the license.
