According to a survey, the rate of child marriage is highest in South Asia. Every year, more than 12 million girls under the age of 18 are victims of child marriage. That means 23 girls are getting married every minute, and one every two seconds. In terms of global reach, South Asia is the second largest region in the Asia-Pacific region.
This report is arranged with the life stories of some of the boys and girls who are working against child marriage and harmful prejudices with the help of Global Plan International. It is estimated that by 2030, 800 million girls worldwide will be victims of child marriage, which is currently 65 million.
