Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal has said that the rights of the people should be established in the parliament through voting. He made the remarks while talking to reporters at the Savar Upazila Parishad auditorium in Dhaka on Friday (May 20).
The Chief Election Commissioner further said that besides the general public, Hijra, Vedic community and sex workers have also been included in the voter list today.

“We are very happy,” said Irene of the third sex. We can also go to the polls with ordinary people and vote. We have now found our identity. We have become citizens of Bangladesh. Along with the common people, we will now be able to establish democratic rights shoulder to shoulder with all.
Chief Election Commissioner, Kazi Habibul Awal said, “Over time, we have all been working on the right of the people in the belief of fair elections in Bangladesh and we have started the right update.” If the people are aware, the right to vote will be fair. We have various activities going on through digital system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Election Commission Secretary Humayun Kabir Khandaker presided over the function.
