Chowdhury today said the government has a plan to increase the number of
ferries on different routes.
“We have a plan to increase ferry on different routes operated by the
Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC), “ said the minister

A total of 50 ferries are now under operation on different routes including 20
are in operation at Paturia sector, 18 at Shimulia, 5 are in Chandpur, 3 are
in Bhola and the rest 4 are in Laharhat sector.

constructed under the project titled “procurement of 35 river vessels, 8
